Luck Supper
Thursday, April 17, 5:30 p.m.
The Loring Center, 386 Court Street
Annual spring gathering for members. Local historian and museum curator
Dr. Karin J. Goldstein shares insights and images of “Plymouth’s
Vanished Past: 400 Years Along Summer/High Street.” Social hour begins
at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and program at 7 p.m. Admission fee $5.
May & June -- Children's Performances, "The Corn Planting"
Harlow
Old Fort House, 119 Sandwich Street
Local schoolchildren star in performances of this historical play about
Plymouth’s early settlers. Free admission. Call (508) 746-0012 for
performance dates & times. Tours of historic house available after
performance. Gift Shop open.
Antiquarian Golf Tournament
Monday, May 19th
Southers Marsh Golf Club, Federal Furnace Road
Help preserve local history while you enjoy an afternoon on an
award-winning scenic New England course. Fee of $110 per player includes
all golf fees, dinner, and a contribution to the Antiquarian Society.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 1 p.m., reception &
dinner begin at 5:30 p.m. Call for reservations.
Historic House Tours
Hedge
House, 126 Water Street
Visit the authentically restored 1809 Hedge House on the Plymouth
waterfront. This gracious Federal mansion with unusual octagonal rooms
was lived in by local merchants & entrepreneurs in the early years of
the new nation. Open Wednesday-Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m., June through August.
Admission $5 adults, $2 children; free for members and Plymouth
residents.
Historic House Tours
Harlow
Old Fort House, 119 Sandwich Street
Tour this rare surviving 17th century homestead, original
home of William Harlow, local cooper, farmer, constable and sergeant of
the Plymouth militia. Open Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., June through
August. Admission $5 adults, $2 children; free for members and Plymouth
residents.
Antiquarian Hearth & Home Tours
Saturday, June 14th – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enter into the heart of family life as you explore selected areas of a
fascinating range of private Plymouth homes, dating from the 18th
century to contemporary times.
Includes luncheon on the grounds of a private Colonial Revival estate
designed by Joseph Everett Chandler. Fee $30; $25 members & advance
discount.
Pilgrim Breakfast, Harlow Old Fort House, 119 Sandwich Street
Sunday, July 6th – 8:30 to 11:30 a.m
Costumed servers dish out piping hot fishcakes, baked beans, cornbread
and other tasty fare, while strolling singers share songs, riddles, and
17th century cheer. This hearty New England breakfast is a
local tradition not to be missed! Proceeds benefit the preservation of
the 1677 Harlow House. Fee $10 per person; $9 members. Family discount
available.

Summer History Program for Children
Hedge Carriage House, 126 Water Street
Weekly sessions, July 7 through week of July 28th
Sign up your young learners for a week-long summer program of
entertaining and educational workshops on daily life in historic
Plymouth though the centuries. Discover Plymouth beyond the Pilgrims
through walking tours, hands-on crafts and historic activities,
including spinning and weaving, period cooking and entertainment.
Pre-registration required.
Teddy Bear Picnic
Spooner Secret Garden, 27 North Street
Saturday, August 2nd – 10 a.m. to noon
A lively morning of storytelling, games, and kids’ activities. Don’t
forget to bring your teddy bear! Recommended for ages 4 and up.
Admission fee, $6 per person; children must be accompanied by adult.
Sacco & Vanzetti Dinner

Friday, August 22nd – 7 p.m.
Explore the history and legacy of a later group of Plymouth settlers –
the Italian-Americans – during a classic Italian dinner and
program under the grand tent on our lawn overlooking Plymouth
harbor. Bruce Watson, author of
Sacco and Vanzetti: The Men, the Murders & the Judgement of Mankind,
recounts the story of one of the 20th century’s most dramatic
and conflicted trials. Watson’s balanced re-examination of the famous
case is rich in local connections – Bartolomeo Vanzetti
was a one-time resident of North Plymouth. Pre-paid reservations
required.
Antiquarian Summer Fair, Hedge House, 126 Water Street
Saturday, August 23rd - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m
Attic treasures, jewelry, homemade goodies, and bargains galore are some
of the delights of this old-fashioned New England fair, held under a big
tent on our sweeping lawn overlooking Plymouth harbor. Browsers welcome,
free of charge! Fee for luncheon.
Old Fashioned Family Halloween
Harlow

Saturday, October 25th , 1 to 6 p.m.
Old-fashioned Halloween fun for youngsters aged 4 and up. Enjoy ghostly
stories by the fireside, try your hand at divination, design a pumpkin
carving and dip a candle to light it. Cider and cookies served.

Séance at the Spooner House

Friday, October 31st, 7 to 9 p.m.
A rare opportunity to investigate the spirit world in an old New England
house believed by many to be haunted. Participants will tour the 1740s
house, including areas not usually viewed by the public, and meet
costumed Spooner family characters who will share the secrets and
stories of the people that lived there over generations. The evening
culminates with a séance conducted by an experienced psychic medium in
Deacon Spooner’s chamber. Light refreshments included. Admission fee.
Seating is very limited; pre-paid reservations required.
